How Siskin Children’s Institute CEO plans to use good business to improve lives

Don Mueller’s greatest motivation in life is making a difference by improving the lives of as many children as possible — something he aspires to do as the new CEO and president of Siskin Children’s Institute, an outpatient center for special needs children.

Mueller said the position allows him to apply his skills to his passion: taking care of children. While he’s a business guy at heart, applying good business principles within a health care business improves outcomes, he said. In his new role, which he took in April, Mueller said his goal is to help the nonprofit increase access, expedite treatment, improve the operation’s effectiveness and efficiency, and transform how it delivers care by implementing new technologies and treatments.
