2014-2015 annual Evaluation Report
Measuring Our Impact, Planning for the Future
A Letter from Institute President and CEO
Thanks to the outstanding efforts of the staff, board and volunteers it has been another wonderful year for Siskin Children’s Institute and the children and families we serve. More than 2,500 families were served by the Institute’s programs in Fiscal Year 2014-2015, an increase of 5% over the previous year and a more than 55% increase over the past three years. 95% of the children receiving services at the Institute have a special need. While many families are just beginning their journeys, others have seen incredible progress and achieved significant goals. It is inspiring to walk down the halls of the building and feel the dedication of our professionals and the perseverance of the children and parents we serve.
Great strides were made this year in each focus area within the Institute’s programs. Outcomes in all four measured strategies used in the Early Learning Center rose over the previous year. The Home & Community-Based Early Intervention program grew and improved. The Center for Developmental Pediatrics saw more patients and patient visits than ever before in both medical and therapy services.
Additionally, specific efforts were made to create community partnerships designed to provide enrichment opportunities for those we serve. Through alliances with ArtsBuild and the Chattanooga Symphony, families were able to enjoy three exclusive, interactive and educational performances by different sections of the orchestra. We expanded informational resources for parents by creating a Siskin Parent’s Corner within the Chattanooga Public Library’s downtown location. Next year will see a sensory friendly performance of a children’s show at the Chattanooga Theatre Center.
I hope after reading this report that you are inspired by the incredible impact these vital programs are making in the lives of families with children with special needs in our region.
Please join us – whether philanthropically or with your time – to help the Institute meet the ever growing need for its services.
