Measuring Effectiveness

Effectiveness of the Home & Community-Based Early Intervention program is measured by the quality of home visits and the child's progress/family quality of life.

The quality of home visits is measured by:

  • Home Visiting Checklist
This checklist describes the expectations for home visits. Home visitors are expected to be observed performing 90% of the steps on the checklist correctly.
  • Behavioral-Consultation Checklists
A series of checklists are used to help home visitors follow protocols for behavioral consultation in different home visiting situations. Most of them are about processes for helping the family and home visitor arrive at interventions for the family to carry out with the child. Some of them are for helping the family and home visitor arrive at strategies to meet family-level needs.
